In order to help you maximize the investment your company is making
in promoting health and fitness in the workplace, HealthEase guides
you through the planning process to make sure the proper steps are
taken to develop a fitness facility/program that addresses the concerns
of your employees and falls within your budget.
Needs
Assessment.
We
can provide an assessment of your employees' health/fitness needs
and interests using our specially designed Health & Fitness
Survey as well as by holding focus group meetings. Once the data
is collected, a detailed report is submitted for your review. The
report helps you gauge interest in health/fitness programs and assists
you in determining what type of programs should be offered for maximum
effectiveness.
Facility
Design.
From
the selection of the exercise equipment to the layout and installation
of the equipment, as well as determination of the square footage
requirements of each room, HealthEase has the expertise and knowledge
to help you design an ideal facility. We take into consideration
such factors as safety, function, traffic flow, even small details like mirror placement
to maximize the space you have allocated- all within your budget.
Marketing
Plan.
An
often overlooked compartment of corporate fitness management is
the marketing plan. The image of the facility and your employees'
perception of it are developed and reinforced through marketing
programs.
A proper marketing plan outlines a strategy to meet three key objectives:
(1) create initial excitement and enrollment; (2) increase awareness
throughout the workplace; and (3) encourage greater ongoing participation.
These factors significantly influence the impact that the health/fitness
facility makes on the employees.
In coordination with your company's management team, HealthEase
will assist in or direct the development of a marketing plan. From
setting timelines and naming the facility to handling communications
and planning special events, HealthEase has the experience to effectively
promote your health/fitness facility. In return, you will be assured
that your company's commitment to the health and fitness of your
employees is maximized.
Start
up and Opening.
Once
the decision is made to have an on-site fitness facility, many pivotal
steps need to be taken to ensure the facility opens on schedule,
on budget and is running smoothly from Day One. That's our job,
and it includes communicating to your employees about the fitness
facility, establishing policies and procedures, handling administrative
functions, administering pre-entrance assessments/screenings, ordering
supplies, and marketing the facility to enlist members and spark
enthusiasm.

Education Programs: "Lunch 'n Learn"
Educational
programs are important components of corporate wellness. They not
only dispense valuable information to the participants, but also
demonstrate a well-rounded menu of services offered by the company's
Human Resources department.
The structure and type of health education programs can vary greatly,
from a single lunchtime talk on "Choosing The Right Shoe For You" to a six-week
course in weight management. Some factors that will affect
the type of programs offered at your site are:
 |
• |
the
allocated budget for these programs |
 |
• |
your
target audience |
 |
• |
the
topic's relevance to health and fitness |
 |
• |
the
participants' work schedules |
 |
• |
the
participants' preferences (based on a survey) |
 |
• |
and,
the timeliness of the topic. |
To
maximize the effectiveness of the health education programs, we
recommend they be planned and implemented regularly throughout the
year. They can stand alone or be coordinated with other wellness
services, such as an incentive program or a health fair.
As with any service, promotion of the health education program is
critical to its success. It is also important to obtain feedback
from the participants afterwards.
